know, this is the original 1950s Capitol album which features MF on the
tune "Maynard Ferguson," recorded 6/5/50. This is one of the two FAMOUS
(!!!!!!!) charts that showcased Maynard each night with the Kenton orchestra
(the other was The Hot Canary). If you've never heard this, then you just
simply haven't heard MF in his ultimate stratospheric playing yet. This
is one of the top 10 albums that every Ferguson collector must acquire.
